SPOT QUICK SUMMARY
This view is a high-level summary of the project. Please view the complete story to see more details.
Role: Research, Information Architecture, Wireframes, and Usability Testing.
Team: 1 PM, 2 UX Designers, 4 Engineers
Problem: Data Scientists have a lot of projects and several requests. The current tool they use is hard to work with, takes hours to run, and often breaks down, which keeps them from completing their work quickly and taking on more projects.
Solution: Re-platformed an internal workflow application for Data Scientists with enhanced speed, consistent performance, improved usability and visualization while also providing scalability.
User: Data Scientists. They are responsible for gathering data, building models, running tests, and making recommendations for various internal business partners.
Disclaimer: Due to proprietary reasons with THD, I'm limited in what I can display publicly.
Research: Field Studies, Interviews, Card Sorting, Usability Tests.
Some Challenges Faced: Stakeholder and User skepticism, Backend Architecture, data visualization complexity.
Some Solutions Created: Rephrasing communication, Cloud based technology, Systems Thinking.
Design: Provided a data visualization solution that improved functionality and allowed Data Scientists to make changes from a single interface in real-time. The solution also reduced confusion by guiding new and existing users through a progressive step (wizard) process.
Results: Project completion time for users decreased by more than 90%.
